Biryani Street- The best Indian street food

When it comes to comfort food… it’s always our own desi food … all the yummy curries … variety of roti & naan … & ofcourse Biryani… we happen to go to this new branch of Biryani Street in Ajman. … a creatively done place …. neither too big not too small … with adequate number of seatings … decorated with the theme of a Dhaba ( a small road side cafe in India) … with a big bonnet of truck kept right on the front wall. Love the idea of using strainers as the lamp shades … very interesting. The staff was really very friendly …. welcoming & will help you in selecting your food by explains all the details.

Though it’s an Indian restaurant, they also serve some of the famous arabic as well as Chinese dishes too.

Coming back to food ….

We were served the Papad with variety of chutnies & achar as an appetizer….. followed by the Lentil soup. ….

From their starters menu, we choose to have ….

⁃ Fattoush…. mix of some fresh herbs & vegetables …. from their arabic menu, we choose to have this salad …

⁃ Chicken lollipop… deliciously coated with the perfect Chinese spices …

⁃ Paneer Pahari … I am a big fan of Paneer … give it in any form .. raw… fried .. baked or in any curry .. I love it in all ways … this particular Tikka was delicious.

⁃ Chicken malai Tikka… as the name says…. malai Tikka … it was actually yummilicious … mild spices … perfectly grilled & melts in your mouth… definitely a must to have.

⁃ Mutton chapli Kebab….. one more awesome kebab …the best thing about this kebab was that they were grilled to perfection & were not too thick.

⁃ Crispy chilli chicken …. chef recommended us to try this also … served really hot & crispy … finger licking yummy.

Also …. they serve all the grills on the sizzler plate which keeps them hot for longer time & also make them more presentable.

From the mains… they served us …

⁃ Chicken Kadai… chicken cooked with onions, capsicum,tomatoes & cashewnuts … a rich creamy chicken. … it’s my favorite… was cooked perfectly.

⁃ Mutton Bhuna… diced lamb, served in semi dry gravy of onion, ginger, garlic & tomato sauce. ….

⁃ Tawa Paneer… cottage cheese tossed with dishes onions, capsicum & tomatoes in dry masala … an amazing veg. dish.

⁃ Daal Tadka… yellow lentil boiled in some basic masala … tempered with cumin, garlic & green chilly. ….was good … a bit salty though.

⁃ Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani…. that’s the most famous of all birayanies … Chicken Marinated in Hyderabad masala … layered with saffron flavored rice … served with vegetable raita. …

We also had some of their amazing desi drinks ….Mango Lassi & Salted Lassi…… some simple yet most famous drinks of our country …& no doubt everyone’s favorite too. …. we also tried their Strawberry Mojito … that’s my favorite drink.

To sum it all …. a highly recommendable place … one of their old branch is in Jumeirah … so you can choose which one to go as per your convenience…. Jumeirah or Ajman … both are equally good ..

Thanks a lot to Mr. Sojan ( restaurant manager) for hosting us & Mr. Prabin & the whole team of Biryani Street for serving us.
