An amazing place for some authentic finger licking Hyderabadi delicacies….
We were invited at their newly opened Sharjah branch for dinner fo some true hyderabadi nawabi experience.
The place is a bit small but is done very creatively …the walls are decorated with tidbits of historical facts about the cuisine served here…. also quotations about their food …. the staff is friendly & well informed about what they are serving…
Coming back to food … we were served with a chef’s special menu that day … starting with a cute welcome drink shot … which was actually a rose water drink with chia seeds. Quite refreshing drink.
In Appetizers they served us
⁃ Patthar ka gosht- it’s a Hyderabadi special starter which is cooked on a mountain stone. The meat is marinated for few hours to get all those delicious flavors infused properly in those thin slices of lamb. The meat was tender & juicy served along with the mint dip that compliment it perfectly.
⁃ Chicken 65- The best chicken 65 we ever had. It was well cooked & just glided through our spoons.
⁃ Haleem- Hyderabadi haleem is famous for its long cooking time, It is blended without the use of any electric blender but by hand which makes it different. ….Aromatic & rich & full of flavour, this is for sure a MUST to have at Deccan Delight. But remember that they serve it only on weekends.
In Mains, they served us
⁃ Dum ka murg- A rich & nutty gravy loaded with chunks of juicy chicken. The taste was simply delicious.
⁃ Nizami Keema- A must have nizami delicacy … a bit dry but loaded with authentic flavors. Goes well with their rumali roti.
⁃ Kachche gosht ke dum biryani- Lamb pieces paired with an aromatic & perfectly cooked basmati rice is what you get with this biryan, which is served with hyderabadi Mirchi ka saalan & raita. You got to try it for sure to experience the real Deccan taste.
No dinner is perfect without a dessert … we tried
⁃ Double Ka Meetha- This is a royal Indian dessert & you definitely feel like one while eating it too. Bread is fried until crisp & then soaked in rich saffron infused milk with a garnish of almonds. A perfect example of royalness.
⁃ Shahi Rabri- Another Royal dessert of India. Milk is reduced to half which gives it a creamy texture & a nutty flavor.
It was totally a Hyderabadi Nawabi experience. We even got a goody bag before leaving with a cute mug, voucher, some ethnic coasters & a really sweet thank you note from The Deccan team.
Thanks a lot Mr. Ali, Miss. Sameena & the whole team of Deccan Delights for such an awesome experience. For sure a recommendable place.
