Yeh hai Mumbai mere Jaan

Was invited for a tasting session at Bombay To Mumbai Cafe. The name itself says it all for the one who had always loved the Mumbai style food.

It has opened its doors just a few months back… in the Marco Polo Hotel, Deira. The moment you enter the restaurant you get that strong vibes of mumbai. The interiors are simple with few funky looking portraits on the wall reminding you of mumbai. & yes it’s a 24/7 place …. so you can go there at any time of the day

The staff is really friendly… specially Mona… who was attending us… & also the Manager, Mr. Farid. The hospitality they provided was really appreciable.

They even got live music if you visit them at dinner time & enjoy your meal with some old or fast track indian songs.

Ours was selected by their head Chef Madan.

So … they start serving us with the famous Pani Puri shots followed with the yummy Dahi Puri.

Then we have the refreshing mocktails. Bombay sunrise, lemon Munddle & Appletini. All three of them were irresistible.

We then moved onto the starters.

Mutton Kalonji Seekh Kebab:- Well grilled & spiced up mutton seekh kebab which will surely take you back to Mumbai…. a must try.

Chicken Tikka Nana-keesh:- If there is anything you cannot miss when you visit them then it has to be Nanakish. … it’s an Indian version of Manakeesh …. as it’s topped in a naan.. so it’s names as nanakeesh… it’s jus scrumptious.

Alisha’s Murg with Saffron :- marinated & cooked in tandoor… with perfect ratio of Indian spices.

Vegetable Shikampuri Kebab:- An indian substitute to Vegetable cutlets…with cheese surprise in the center.

After having a scrumptious starters we could hardly wait for the mains

Mains

Daal Makhani, Butter Chicken , Paneer haandi & Mutton biryani with Raita … was delicious.

The most important part of the meal … DESSERT … we had Gajarela Truffles:- it was actually Gajar ka halwa balls dipped totally into white chocolate & served with rose syrup as dressing….. awesome improvisation & yummilicious.

To sum up all … a good place with reasonable prices ….good food…. nice ambience … live music .. friendly staff … soooo . just perfect option to go with family & friends.

“Yeh hai Mumbai…. yeh hai Mumbai …. yeh hai Mumbai Meri Jaan”. …
